Elevate by HVMG is excited to lead the project management for the renovation and repositioning of the Ramada Hotel in downtown Augusta, Georgia. This significant project marks the next chapter for one of the city’s most recognizable hospitality landmarks.
Originally opened in 1974 as the Executive House Hotel and later rebranded under Ramada in 1999, the property holds a special place in Augusta’s history. Designed by renowned architect I.M. Pei, best known for the Louvre Pyramid in Paris, the 175-room hotel is one of only two in the United States designed by Pei.
Now under new ownership, an affiliate of Breakwater has partnered with BR Investments to reimagine the property. Breakwater, a Charleston-based investment and advisory firm, will oversee the full transformation of the hotel. The project includes plans for a new soft-brand affiliation, modernized interiors, and expanded public spaces designed to serve both guests and the local community.
Elevate by HVMG will serve as project manager for the hotel’s renovation, ensuring seamless coordination between ownership, architects, designers, and construction partners. The Gettys Group has been selected to lead the branding and interior design, while Rabun Architects will oversee the architectural scope.
The revitalized hotel will feature a new food and beverage concept developed in partnership with a Charleston restaurateur, as well as activated street-level and courtyard spaces that extend the guest experience beyond the property’s walls.
By combining modern design, community connection, and expert project leadership, this redevelopment aims to make the hotel a vibrant gathering place on Augusta’s Broad Street once again. Read more about this update here.
